RSA Mini-grant

REFORMA Southeast is proud to announce:

Sara Howrey El día de los niños/El día de los libros 2010 Mini-Grant

The Sara Howrey El día de los niños/El día de los libros Mini-Grant is named in honor of Sara P. Howrey. Sara worked in children’s services at the Kenton County Public Library/Mary Ann Mongan Library in Covington, KY, from May 2000 until her retirement in February 2010. She is passionate about the importance of literacy in all home languages. Sara was one of the founding members of REFORMA Southeast, and she continues to volunteer her time and expertise to our REFORMA chapter and to local librarians who are interested in celebrating Día.

  • Increase the public’s awareness of the El día de los niños/El día de los libros program.
  • Develop materials and programs that can be a model in other states and communities.
  • Make available on the web easily downloadable materials useful for developing and publicizing the program locally.
  • Expand the number of public and school libraries participating in the Día program.

If your public or school library is located within our service area, or if one of your staff is a member of REFORMA Southeast, then your institution may be eligible to one of our $100 mini grants.
